Typical minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. with first class or equivalent B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering with consistently good academic record throughout.

Assistant Professor

Early-career faculty role aimed at outstanding PhD graduates building an independent research programme.

  • Typically under ~35 years of age.
  • Around 3+ years of post-doctoral experience is normally expected.
  • PhD graduates with exceptional achievements with less experience may begin on a tenure-track position.

Associate Professor

For mid-career academics who have already established a visible research profile.

  • Generally below ~45 years of age.
  • Roughly 6+ years of total teaching / research / industrial experience after PhD.
  • At least about 3 years at an Assistant Professor–equivalent level.

Professor

Senior faculty role for researchers with a strong international track record.

  • Usually 10+ years of teaching / research / professional experience.
  • At least about 4 years at an Associate Professor–equivalent level.
  • Demonstrated leadership via sponsored projects, PhD supervision, and impactful publications.
  • Preferred upper age is typically below ~55 years.
